Karachi: JANUARY 01: A high level meeting was held today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah at Chief Minister House. The meeting was attended by Sindh Minister for Local Government Agha Siraj Durrani, Advisor to Sindh Government for special projects Mr. Fazal-ur-Rehman, provincial Secretary Law Syed Ghulam Nabi Shah, Secretary Local Government Mr. Khursheed Naeem Malik, Secretary to C.M Mr. Ahmed Bux Narejo, D.C.O Thatta, EDO (Rev:) Thatta, Member (Land Utilization) and others.
The meeting discussed in detail about provision of land proposed for city named- Zulfikarabad to be established in Thatta district. It was informed that for the stage-I, there will be need of one million acres of land for the purpose.The meeting was informed that President Mr. Asif Ali Zardari has directed to assess, arrange and provide required land so as to initiate the formalities and work on project. It was also informed that Sindh land Bank will transfer 3.5 lac acres of land to Land Management and Development Company. It was informed that there is 15 lac acres of land available in four Talukas of Thatta district, out of which 8.5 acre land is under sea water, while there is 4.5 acres of land out of sea water and Sindh Board of Revenue under Sindh Land Bank will provide / allocate 3.5 lac acres of land.
Chief Minister Sindh directed the officers of Board of Revenue and DCO Thatta / EDO (Rev:) Thatta to visit total area and submit a comprehensive report about complete details of land including qabooli and no-qabooli land within 3 days, upto evening of Tuesday. It was informed that President of Pakistan is expected to hold a high level meeting in this connection next week. Chief Minister Sindh also directed the Coastal Development Authority to connect the newly constructed 18 kilometer road with any existing road, so as to protect the existing constructed road for further utilization and extension for the facility of people of area.
The meeting also discussed issues of illegal occupation and un-authorized encroachments in area of Hawks bay particularly in the limits of Lyari Development Authority area where illegal warehouses have been established. Chief Minister Sindh directed to get those illegal warehouses and other encroachments removed by providing alternate plots/ area to occupants, so as to beautify the area by providing parks, commercial and residential facilities to people with facilities of water, gas, electricity etc.
Chief Minister Sindh also directed to negotiate the concerned persons and the land so occupied be formally regularized as per government rules. The meeting also decided to shift the trucking stand from Mauripur road to Northern Bye-pass where the affectess be provided alternate apace and facilities.The meeting also discussed other issues and allied matters.
